Sun Life Grepa Q1 NBAPE surges 160% on bancassurance push, enters top five
June 15, 2026
Sun Life Grepa Financial Inc. reported strong first-quarter 2026 results, with growth across its key revenue indicators driven by expansion in affinity marketing and bancassurance channels.
The insurer said total premium income (TPI) rose 79 percent year-on-year to the end of March, while new business annual premium equivalent (NBAPE) surged 160 percent, marking its strongest performance to date in that segment.
Growth was driven by deeper penetration into underserved markets through a strategic affinity partner, as well as stronger activity in its bancassurance business via its partner bank.
Following the results, Sun Life Grepa ranked seventh in TPI and fifth in NBAPE among domestic life insurers.
Sun Life Grepa president Richard S. Lim said the performance reflected the effectiveness of its distribution strategy.
“Our performance this quarter shows that our strategy is working where it matters most: reaching more Filipinos and helping them take meaningful steps toward financial security,” Lim said. “We’re building a business that is more inclusive and aligned with the evolving needs of our clients.”
The company said it will continue to expand its bancassurance programs and partner networks to sustain growth for the remainder of the year.
